This is a short post today, because not much really needs to be said.
Have you ever paid attention to the common denominator of all the times God spoke to His servants?
Notice what the verses say:
Deuteronomy 5:23 (KJV)
And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, [even] all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
Job 38:1 (KJV)
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Nahum 1:3, "The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet."
Mark 6:50, "For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid."
God speaks to his servants in
darkness, in
storms, in
whirlwinds, and in times of peril. Take Gideon for example. When God spoke to Gideon, it during the times of Midianite oppression.
It is not a time to be down in dark times. It is a time to get
excited. When Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were cast into the fire,
that's when Jesus showed up and had a conversation
in the midst of the fire.
It was when Elisha and his servant were surrounded by the Syrian Army, that the servant's eyes were opened and Holy Spirit beheld the armies of the Lord
surrounding the Syrians.
It was at the Red Sea, when the people of Israel were chanting the death of Moses for leading them to a dead end, as the chariots of Pharaoh pursued them in the opposite direction,
that God spoke to Moses.
It was in the midst of the Egyptian Prison that we see recorded that
the Lord was with Joseph.
It was in the midst of Pharaoh's house, away from her husband that Sarah saw God plague Pharaoh's house before he could defile her.
It was in the midst of Roman oppression and worldwide taxation that
Jesus Christ was born.
I'm sure you could probably think of even
better examples. But the point is, don't let
darkness and
storms and
trouble get you down; for it is in the
darkest places that the Lord shines
brightest.
So fan that flame of revival! JESUS is ready to work in the midst of times that people call
the worst of times.
