"For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries." ~1 Corinthians 16:9
Now this is an interesting picture isn't it? It's a picture of a laptop and an extra monitor on a table just outside the church.
Strange place to put an office; that's just one of those fancy pics to catch our attention!
Granted, I touched the picture up a little, but what you're seeing is a real situation that occurred last Wednesday. At this stage in our progress preparing for
Community Appreciation Day, we obtained around 500 people interested in receiving mail about November 23, in which we express our appreciation to the community for allowing us to be a part of Tarboro for the years we've been here. At the same time, the letterheads for our thank you notes which we send to each person expressing interest finally arrived as well. It was now time to print out hundreds of letters to our dear friends of Tarboro. And as I turned on my computer, the letterheads in the printer, anticipation for the future of New Grace mounting; my heart sank as the screen went black.
Our computer is not even a year old! When I realized the lighting had malfunctioned, I immediately realized what was taking place.
Our purpose for these letters is completely for the sake of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ getting out in Tarboro, and the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:4, "The god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the
glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
The Prince of
darkness blacked out my computer. Satan will do what he can to see that a potential threat is eliminated to his dark ministry, and he has been very involved in the Analytics of what we are doing. The Bible gives a clear diagnosis of
when Satan will attack, and you can be sure that when attempts for the sake of the gospel are made, there will be
adversaries. The very meaning of
Satan is
adversary. When there is the
slightest opportunity to sow seed, you will find Satan right around the corner.
You find the enemy
sowing tares; you find the enemy
seeking the tired; you find the enemy
scaring the timid...if it has
anything to do with
sowing, seeking, and
saving; he'll be there to
SMASH—if he can—all that is done. My friend...
this is why the laborers are few. We are desperate for your prayers. We need them. The
one thing Satan fears more than anything in this
universe is a
human...who
prays.
Well, we
did find an extra monitor, and were able to get the letters printed, but we're still involved in getting that screen to work again.
Will you fan the flame that is going here in Tarboro with your prayers?
Also, if you have any idea what I need to do to get my screen back in working order, I'd be grateful for what help you can give me!
