As a pastor, I have a tendency to have structured set of plans that I want to see completed exactly the way I had planned them, at the
exact date I had them planned and exactly
who is going to carry out these plans. I've been a pastor for eight years now, and if I can say it the way people in Tarboro say it, "It don't happen that way!"
God has a set of plans that he wants to see carried out; and before you begin to debate the issue on
who's the boss, consider a few things: 1) The Bible said that
He is king
long before you were born, 2) The very God you came to serve, you learned about
from the Bible, 3) God had a solution
long before you ever knew there was a problem!
O dear friend, when God hacks into your plans, it's with this in His mind, "I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an
expected end."
My dear friend, my dear
Christian brother or sister;
our Father loves us...He died for us...don't you think He would give everything else to us if He was willing to give His own Son?
So what's the problem?
Are you still hurting?
Are you
still frustrated that God didn't do things the way
you were minded to do them?
Dear friend, He
loves you. He's not out to get you! He's out to bring you to the
expected end that you were hoping for,
if you'll let Him.
We get ourselves so frustrated about a particular issue that wasn't resolved the way
we wanted it to get resolved; and we sit and pout and ask, "Why would
God..." or, "How
could God?"
I'll tell you why! Because He knew that
expected end wasn't going to be manifested if you took the way
you thought was best. And He loves you
so much, that He wouldn't give it to you no matter how badly you kicked and screamed and shook your fist in His face!
HE LOVES YOU!
HE'S YOUR FRIEND!
You know, that whole kicking and screaming part brings me to parenting thoughts. Hmmmm...I feel like I've endured this with my
own little chickens!
I love my boys! I want them to succeed and to do
great things for God...and unfortunately for them,
because I love them, they don't always get their way.
One of my boys, and I won't say which, will go so far as to say, "You don't
love me!"
Do you think he really believes that?
Well, let me make sure we have an understanding, there are some kids who don't really know if their parents love them; but this child in particular
knows his daddy loves him. So what's the real issue here? We're having a power struggle. We are
absolutely determined something is going to go our way
to the point that we exempt ourselves from God's love and care, and we pout because something didn't go our way...
big mistake!
Your Father, if you're a born again Christian, is
ready to give you the desires of your heart! But the key is to
delight in Him. Know that if there's a blocked goal, it probably wasn't going to work out anyway, if not put you into a far
worse situation.
When something doesn't work out, it is best to know in your heart that God
is going to bring you to that expected
end! The blocked goal was only the
route to that end. God still knows what the solution is! He knew what it was
long before you ever knew there was a problem!
My friend...
TRUST GOD...even when it hurts.
Fan the flame! Keep the faith! God ordered that we cross to the other side! No matter what contrary winds or storms we face...we're gonna make it!
TRUST GOD!
