I never imagined that my kids would be as excited about music as they are! Just a couple days ago, we were all out enjoying the lovely Saturday weather as Harrison
sounded the trumpet, even coming up with his own bugle call; while Wilson plays a song from the Suzuki book and then does it the second time for memory!
Wilson especially will practice piano and violin without being asked!
Honestly, it's like a dream come true. Some kids might be late bloomers at some things. Just like when they learn how to walk.
Don't be frustrated when a violin teacher says your child should be playing the last page of the music book he can't even get the first page of...it takes a little time with some of them.
I'm not saying to
waste time, but I am also saying,
don't get all frustrated because little Jimmy down the street is
way ahead of your little Joey.
Let them enjoy learning how to make music.
Oh! It is
so crucial that they
do! Especially in the day in which we live. Let your children learn to
love what's
beautiful. We don't want our children to embrace what the world calls beautiful...but unfortunately, millions of dollars are being spent on
that. Satan is ready to devour our kids, and one of the ways we can protect them, is by giving them a love for
good music.
Applaud them! Cheer them on!
Don't let them see you pull your hair out because they can't get that little eighth rest! They need encouragement toward godliness, because it is in their nature to head for the
godless.
So have fun! And for goodness sake, let your child know how proud you are of them, and how
amazing their song was!
And I can't wait to see what Bryson does with that piano he's so fond of!
So fan that flame, and "make a joyful noise unto
The Lord!"
